‘Anat found by Gaza farmer after 4500 years
She was in Nidal Abu Eid’s field in Gaza for 4500 years, until his plow unearthed her in April. ‘Anat is the ancient Canaanite goddess of love, beauty, and war.
She documents the history of the Palestinian people on this land, back to their ancient Canaanite civilization and history.
Gaza, the only natural port connecting the ancient trade routes from Egypt to the greater Levant, has a rich history and culture. Through this sculpture, which Abu Eid donated to a Gaza museum of antiquity, Palestinian people can enjoy and celebrate their culture.
